We need four people to represent Manhattan on the Libertarian Party of New York’s state committee.
The Libertarian Party of New York state committee is a 69-member body that makes decisions on party business. Representatives are picked from every judicial district in New York. Manhattan’s district, District 1, has been given four seats on the committee.
The election for state committee members will be held on June 23, the date of New York’s primary election. Every enrolled Libertarian in Manhattan is eligible to run. You must petition to get on the ballot. The petitioning period begins February 25 and ends April 2. We will help you petition.
Responsibilities include attending online meetings (averaging once a month), meeting in-person occasionally (location rotates around the state), and voting on party business. The first in-person meeting of the state committee will be held the last weekend of September in New York City, where they will form new rules that will govern future meetings, and elect the executive committee.
If you are interested in running for this position, please email us at info@manhattanlp.org as soon as possible so we can get you on the ballot.
