Adam Platka is a Saint Joseph's College graduate with a degree in history and political science. His dissertation entitled "Terrorists or Citizen Soldiers" is an in depth look at the beginning of the American Revolution, taking a modern historical view of the Sons of Liberty in their fight for freedom. His discussion will focus on how the Sons of Liberty were formed and how its unique leadership and actions directly led to the to the revolution. He will also touch on whether the Sons of Liberty actions, ranging from pamphleteering, aggressive mobs and the famous Boston tea party, were true revolutionary acts or acts terrorism.
Adam has worked for a wide range of non-profits ranging from large foundations, arts groups and conservation organizations. Currently he works for a children and family services based organization. Adam works and lives in Brooklyn.
