From the mighty Eric Sundwall, chairman of the Libertarian Party of New York and candidate in the 20th CD special election, comes a press release today spelling out his position on the Obama “stimulus” package. Sundwall says he would have voted against the scheme, but recognizing that it probably would have passed anyway, he would have sponsored some amendments to make it a little less awful:
First, Sundwall would sponsor an amendment to enact Congressman Ron Paul’s bill to audit the Federal Reserve System.
Second, Sundwall would bar the use of stimulus money to fund professional sports teams or their facilities.
Third, Sundwall would prohibit the use of stimulus funds to finance eminent domain that would transfer private property to other individuals, firms or associations.
Fourth, Sundwall would prohibit any stimulus financing going to any international lending institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) or World Bank.
