I know politics makes strange bedfellows, but this is ridiculous. NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg is on the ballot for President of the United States… in Virginia. And his running mate is none other than Congressman Ron Paul.
Apparenly Virginia, unlike New York and most other states, does not require candidates file a certified letter of acceptance once nominating petitions are filed on their behalf. So unless Bloomberg or Paul objects, they’ll be on the ballot together in November, courtesy of the Independent Greens of Virginia. So far, it sounds like Bloomberg is actually considering letting the nomination stand. No word yet from the Paul camp.
