The Wall Street Journal is reporting that new technology may allow the TSA to analize liquids as they go through an X Ray machine. This means that instead of being forced to throw out any liquids in containers larger than 3 ounces, you’ll only have to let them zap whatever drink you’re bringing on the plane with radiation. Although some may see this as an increase, albeit minor, in liberties, it is simply a step sideways. Being searched is only marginally better at best than being stopped.
For the record, I was successful getting my laptop through TSA screening when I flew out to college about 2 weeks ago.
